What a year โ€” and what a finish! We’re overflowing with gratitude and so excited to share some big news alongside a look back at our incredible final week of school.

Welcome, Lori & Sarah! โœจ

We are thrilled to introduce two incredible educators joining the HRCS family. Their combined passion for outdoor, nature-based, and early childhood learning is a perfect fit for everything we stand for.

Lori Whipple

Lori Whipple

Preschool Lead Teacher & Program Director

With 30+ years of experience and 17 years in the Forest School movement, Lori founded Wonder Forest in Alma and Bristlecone Children’s School. She holds Nature Pedagogy and Montessori certifications, an ECE Teaching Degree, and received Summit County’s Excellence in Childcare Award. We are so lucky to have her!

Sarah Shaw

Lead Teacher

Sarah has been a lead teacher and parent educator at Edith Teter Preschool since 2018, and facilitated outdoor camps, hikes, and nature programs with Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative. She holds a Level 4 Early Childhood Credential and a Recreation degree โ€” and many of you know her as an HRCS parent! We’re so glad she’s officially on the team.

HRCS is Opening a New Site in Alma!

We are so proud to announce that HRCS will be expanding with a brand-new site in Alma, Colorado! This milestone reflects the incredible support of our community. Stay tuned โ€” more details are on the way!

Field Day was everything โ€” kids threw themselves into a full day of outdoor fun:

From splashing on the trails to spirited shouts of capture the flag โ€” the perfect sendoff to summer, with smiles on every face and mud on every boot.
