Around‑the‑World Mining Museum — by HRCS Students!

Our 5th–8th graders wrapped up their mining unit with an incredible student‑created museum now on display at the Fairplay Visitor Center. From mining in Japan to the experiences of Native American communities, each student researched a unique topic and built a visual exhibit to share their learning.

Through mine visits, hands‑on exploration, and studying Park County’s rich mining history, students discovered how mining has shaped economies, cultures, and landscapes — especially here in Fairplay.

Come see their thoughtful, creative work on display!
