Welcome to The Great Llama Race!
Thank you for joining us for one of Park County’s most unique and unforgettable community traditions. Whether you are racing, fundraising, volunteering, sponsoring, or cheering from the sidelines, your support helps High Rockies Community School continue providing meaningful, hands-on educational experiences for students in our community.
Today is all about teamwork, creativity, community, and a little bit of llama-powered chaos.

- Team registration and check-in
- Pick up race packets and event T-shirts
- Pick up assigned llamas

Costume & Team Name Judging
- Teams should be staged at the start line
- Judging begins for Best Team Name & Costume
- Bring the creativity, commitment, and llama drama

Race Day Reminders
Closed-toe shoes are required
Teams must stay together and cross the finish line together
Be prepared for uneven terrain and a river crossing
Bring water, sunscreen, and layers for changing mountain weather
No dogs or pets allowed on the race course
Most importantly: have fun

The Great Llama Race course is approximately 2.1 miles through the heart of Fairplay. The course includes pavement, dirt trails, uneven terrain, and a river crossingβall at Colorado mountain altitude.
