Celebration of Learning: Mining Edition!

Students at High Rockies Community School wrapped up their mining unit with an unforgettable Celebration of Learning on February 3rd. After exploring Colorado’s rich mining history and learning how to create a museum display on a field trip to the Leadville Mining Museum, our young historians created a mining museum of their own!

Dressed as historical figures, students stepped into the past to share stories, artifacts, and research they uncovered throughout the unit. This project is a perfect example of how our learners dive deep—driven by curiosity, guided by experience, and empowered to choose the areas that spark their interest most.

At HRCS, learning is hands‑on and student‑centered. Each unit blends reading, writing, data collection, graphing, creativity, and presentation skills. We’re so proud of the hard work, passion, and imagination our students brought to this unit. Their museum was a true gold mine of learning! 💛⛏️
